Upgraded Portfolio Page, 3DSMax Usergroup Panel
DRAWINGS ADDED TO PORTFOLIO PAGE
Just uploaded a bunch of my drawings to the portfolio page. You may ask while looking at them, “why are they mostly unfinished?” Often times when I’m drawing something I get to a certain part that I can’t bring to completion (ie; legs on a character). No matter how many different variations I try out I wind up unhappy with it. What I do very often is if I hit a wall in a sketch I simply stop working on it for some time and come back to it later. Sometimes when I return to past work I can get right back into it and complete it. Anyway check out my portfolio page if you wanna see the many new drawings I’ve added.
3DSMax USERGROUP PANEL AT PRATT UNIVERSITY
I went to Pratt University in Manhattan on Thursday for a 3D Studio Max usergroup panel. This time, instead of seeing new software demos, we had animation majors from my school up on the panel. The panel was meant to be an educational experience as animation students got to ask and answer questions to and from animation professionals. I’m not an animation major but I have been taking animation classes in an effort to increase my knowledge and versatility. I learned a lot about the perspective of a professional in the graphics field and many of the answers given still pertained to me.
I learned about a website during the panel called ‘Creative Heads’ (creativeheads.net). This is apparently an excellent resource for those in the visual arts field. I haven’t had a chance to give the site a spin but from what I saw it acts as a hub for professionals, amateurs, and employers. I plan to use this site in the future.
